spooked...challenge

Little Miss Muffet Sat on a tuffet Eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider Who sat down

beside her And frightened Miss Muffet away.

Find an image of Little Miss Muffet and add this verse. "dare to be different".

FAT BOOK

Make a Fat Book

Backgrounds for the pages - Cut out individual four-inch by

four-inch squares and then create the pages.OR, use a whole sheet of paper to

create one large background,  then cut into pages. A nine-inch by twelve-inch piece of

watercolord piece of paper paper will make six fat book pages.

Create the pages - You can use one design and photo copy it.

until you  have the number of completed pages that are needed or

design  an original print for each page.

Make page backs -  fat book pages should have a blank back. The  white of a plain

back really sticks out when the fat book is  assembled. Print a back for each page that

includes the *artist's name ,* contact information. Or, paste ephemera on the backs and

apply a light wash of color.

Embellish- This is the fun part of a fat book page. Things that dangle, fibers and a

multitude of other little things can be used to glam up the pages. Before applying embellishments,

check to see how close to the left edge of the page so the book will open properly.

Glue -  Leave time for the pages to dry.

How to use your Gel Pens

1
Color in the picture with the gel pens. Regular computer paper is best to use, as the gel will rub off of

shiny, photo or poster paper.

2
Allow the gel to dry for 10 minutes. Test the gel with your finger to ensure it has completely dried.

3
Color in the  again using the same gel pens. Focus on the streaked areas.

4
Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 if the picture is not evenly colored in focus on the streaked areas.

5
Color over the entire picture one last time after the gel has dried. If you find that the pens aren't

coloring properly or have slightly dried out.
Place the gel pens in the freezer for 10 minutes. The freezer will cause the gel color to work again.

Heat can cause the gel to write colorlessly.

Have A Wicked Christmas

I have most of my prep. work done for my card and the glue gun is pluggeded in. Looking for the stapler this time..lol. found some plaid paper (red and black) and the perfect rubber stamp. I plan on swiping the card with a vintage purple and black stazon ink. Got orange seed beads and a matching ribbon. Now safety pins to adorn the ribbon. A glue stick to position paper to card. Glue gun hot and oozing the glue to the the brass buttons. Gave up on staples..heheheh. I like the look added a title
and we are done. Hope you like my card. Total time: 45 minutes

This is a challenge over at Forever Night Creepy Challenge Blog. (Anything Goes)

Explaining Ink Blots

I have been rubber stamping for 25 years and have learned alot and have mingled into everything

related to stamping. Though a rubber stamp ink blot is usually made using an ink pad and rubber

stamps, you can have many styles when you stamp. Maybe you like flowers or birds or just use word

stamps to make a card or a tag. I have ventured into this unexplored area and find it is my muse.

Rubber Stamp Ink Blotting allows you to step out of the “box” and explore your natural creativity

like we once had as a child learning to hold a crayon. It is an easy process if you want to take the time

and learn. I taught myself by experimenting with “shapes”. I wanted “movement” in my art and I am

still trying to find this in inkings.

Not one of my ink blots are the same. I do not start by planning what I want to design, they just flow

freely onto the paper by positioning images onto paper using different angles —no rules are needed.

Just like making an abstract painting, it cannot be easily explained or taught.

I am a self taught mixed media artist. I like designing zines, ATCs, art journals, cards, mingle in

vintage, grunge, pop art, abstract and artsy styles. I am considered a mood artist.

I have found a safe haven in art that no one else can disturb. It is a creative outlet that allows me to be

myself through this filterless process. No restraints present; the fluid just flows in the neon liquid

pool that produces waves of natural vibrations. And I usually don’t title my work not to take the

mystery out of it
.
How do I design? With an open mind and an imagination! And if the art doesn’t have wings… I just

 add them!

Artfully, Jean.

I am so happy I am doing my favorite "happy dance" join me...PLease stop in daily and see just what I am doing. I have a motto: ...dare to be different! I practice it everyday..but, also stay in my comfort zone until I have grown my wings a little wider and I am flying high in the sky. Enjoy and have fun. artdoll, jean ******************************************************* ******************************************************* Greetings! I am so glad you found me. My name is jean and I was born with a crayon in my hand. I can't tell you how many times I was reminded not to draw on the walls in my room and the hallway in the house. I will admit that I even drew on the bathroom wall at school. I was always drawing and coloring, While the other children were playing with Barbie dolls and dressing them. I was drawing my dolls and cutting them out, then I would design clothes for them I was only happy when I was designing and playing with my dolls. As I matured I started filling notebooks with sketches. If I was inspired by something, I would sit and write down colors that I liked and return to draw an outfit. Every doll was different and named. I also gave the doll a birthday. This was on the day the doll was designed. I had a cardboard box and each doll was wrapped in tissue paper. These dolls were my life. I never allowed the other children to touch them. or play with them. I find happiness and a sense of well being when I create my art. My hobbies also include fiber art, collage, victorian art, altered dooks, art journals, rubber stamping and scrapbooking. macrame, domino jewerly, crochet, stone rubbings, and much more. These are just a few of the many things I do. If it has been done...I have done it. I have plans to write a book about my paper art dolls. I will complete the book in the future. I love meeting other artists who make paper art dolls. I love to be different. And have a motto I repeat often ... "dare to be different!" Never think you have to follow in someone elses foot steps. Never hide your art because you do not think it is good enough. Show it off. Art is made to hang on the wall and to be showed off. *I can't wait to get my art out of the box and show my pride and joys off. I express just who I am through my art work. I design differently every day. And my moods reflect this. It is like magic to me and I never have artist block. Sometimes I will have 5 projects started and will finish each one. I have never started a piece of art and tossed it in a pile. My art means too much to me. Hope you enjoyed your visit. And ...dare to be different...very different! I have been rubber stamping for 40 years and have learned alot and have mingled into everything related to stamping. ALTERED "RAT" TRAP by Jean

Welcome to Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop!

I have something delightful for you, that I altered.

Meet the Newly Weds, Mr. and Mrs. Kline: I altered a "RAT" trap and a little

"mouse" Trap to show you just how the bride gets the traps her men once she

needs a "new heart". What a way to go!

Notice on the small trap I stamped a hand on it; This is a requirement and added to

the challenge. Now you can tell all your friends how to "ALTER a RAT TRAP!" and you saw it first

at the S&S Member Hop.

P.S. Look at the bride she is pretty roughed up; Guess her last hubby put up a fight. He was rather

large.

ZOMBIE LOVE SONG

What is Creepmas

What Is CREEPMAS?

CREEPMAS is a good-natured push back at Retail America for trying to force Christmas down our

throats as early as July. Something has gone seriously wrong with how holidays are marketed to us

in the last 5 years. When you go to a major retail store in mid-October only to find they've gotten rid

of all their Halloween merchandise in favor of snowmen & Santas, well, it's time to take action!

Something as utterly ridiculous as Christmas trees in August deserves an equally ridiculous response!

CREEPMAS is for those Halloween lovers and Monster Kids who want to say "enough is enough" -

if they're going to put their Christmas into our Halloween, then let's put our Halloween into their

Christmas! Tim Burton showed us that it can be done with marvelous results, and we're definitely

following his lead.

The 13 Days of Creepmas is an online Celebration of Spookiness from December 1 - 13. The idea is

to bring a macabre twist to Christmas and the holidays. Get creative and post it on your blog - share

your twisted yule visions with the world!

**Now bear in mind - this is for FUN. We're not out to ruin other peoples' holidays and

sabotage/vandalism are NOT what we're promoting. Leave the neighbors' nativity scene alone. The

13 Days of Creepmas is about how you decorate yourself, your home and/or your life to let the world

know that you are a CREEP! Wear it loud, wear it proud!

And Thanksgiving? Sorry, you turkey - you're on your own.

1/2 tsp. Pumpkin Spice
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Non-Dairy Chocolate Chips

Directions:

With an electric mixer, mix shortening, sugar, pumpkin, and applesauce until well combined. Fold in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, pumpkin spice and salt with a spoon and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Introduction to Ceepmas

CREEPMAS
A reaction to the continuing incursion of Christmas into Autumn and Halloween, CREEPMAS is a

good-natured chance for Halloween lovers to exact revenge by bringing some spooky good cheer into

the holidays or, more appropriately, the Hallowdays.
